Modern Day Slavery Policy
Aims of This Policy
Our Commitment
At Gel Ovations Europe Ltd, we take a firm stand against modern slavery. We actively work to prevent it in our business, our supply chain, and our partnerships. This Modern Day Slavery Policy applies to everyone connected with us. That includes employees, directors, contractors, consultants, agency workers, volunteers, interns, and all third-party representatives.
https://gelovationseurope.com/contact/We expect every business partner to follow this Policy. If they are not yet compliant, they must show clear evidence of progress. Otherwise, we will not continue the relationship. In addition, this Policy underpins our obligations under Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
How We Do Business
We believe that business must be both ethical and sustainable. For that reason, we reject all forms of forced labour. Our standards follow both International Labour Organisation guidelines and UK law.
-
Our headquarters are in Bristol, UK, and we operate only from this location.
-
Every employee has a written employment contract.
-
Staff receive training on our ethical standards and corporate responsibility.
-
We regularly assess contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with modern slavery laws.
Although we believe the risk of modern slavery in our supply chain is low, we remain proactive. We continue to improve our processes so that exploitation cannot take place.
Training and Reporting
We provide regular training and refresher courses to strengthen awareness. These sessions help employees understand their responsibilities and recognise warning signs.
Importantly, we encourage staff to raise concerns without fear. If an employee suspects modern slavery, they have full freedom to report it.
What We Mean by Modern Slavery
Modern slavery is a serious and complex problem. According to the Modern Slavery Act 2015, it includes four key crimes:
-
Slavery – ownership or control over another person.
-
Servitude – forcing someone to provide a service through coercion.
-
Forced labour – making someone work against their will under threat of punishment.
-
Human trafficking – arranging or enabling travel for exploitation.
We also oppose child labour, which may not always be illegal but is always harmful. Child labour exploits children, interrupts education, damages health, and limits social development.
In all cases, modern slavery removes personal freedom for profit or gain. It violates human rights and destroys dignity.
Our Ongoing Efforts
Tackling modern slavery is not a one-time action. It requires constant vigilance. Therefore, we commit to:
-
Strengthening checks on our supply chain.
-
Supporting staff with training and open reporting channels.
-
Improving our policies each year.
-
Taking action whenever risks are identified.
Together, we can reduce the risks of forced labour and human trafficking.
