Stop the Pressure Day: Why Pressure Care Matters Every Day of the Year

By James Payne, Managing Director, Gel Ovations (Europe)

Every year, Stop the Pressure Day, led by the Tissue Viability Society, highlights a crucial issue in healthcare: pressure injury prevention. It’s an important moment to recognise the vital work happening across the NHS and beyond. However, at Gel Ovations, pressure care isn’t a once-a-year focus — it’s a 365-day commitment.

A Year-Round Commitment to Pressure Care

As a trusted provider of pressure care products and solutions to NHS Trusts across the UK, Gel Ovations sees Stop the Pressure Day as more than an awareness campaign. Instead, it’s a powerful opportunity to reaffirm our values. It also allows us to educate, collaborate, and innovate alongside the healthcare professionals working daily to protect patients.

Proud to Support Grampian NHS Stop the Pressure Day

This year, we’re delighted to be exhibiting at the Grampian NHS Stop the Pressure Day. The event takes place at the Beach Ballroom in Aberdeen on Wednesday, 12 November 2025. It brings together tissue viability nurses, clinicians, procurement teams, and healthcare leaders. Together, they share best practices, explore new technologies, and help drive the national effort to reduce pressure ulcers.

Education at the Heart of Prevention

At Gel Ovations, we believe pressure injury prevention is a 24-hour responsibility. Therefore, education is built into everything we do — from product design to hands-on in-service training delivered across NHS Trusts.
Our team works closely with tissue viability specialists to ensure our solutions are clinically effective, simple to use, and easy to maintain in real-world clinical settings.

Why Prevention Matters

Pressure injuries can be devastating. They impact patients physically and emotionally, reduce quality of life, and often prolong hospital stays. They also place a significant financial burden on healthcare systems.
Yet many pressure injuries are preventable with timely intervention and the right equipment. This is why Gel Ovations is passionate about turning awareness into action. We support clinicians with the tools, knowledge, and guidance they need to provide exceptional care — not just on Stop the Pressure Day, but every single day.

A Call to Keep Moving Forward

Stop the Pressure Day reminds us what’s at stake and why continued collaboration is essential. It is a moment to pause and reflect, but more importantly, it encourages all of us to keep pushing forward.
We’re excited to join the Grampian NHS event, showcase our pressure care solutions, and hear directly from frontline teams. Their insights help us continue supporting the outstanding work being done across Scotland and the wider UK.

Living the Mission — Every Day

At Gel Ovations, we don’t just support Stop the Pressure Daywe live it. Every patient, every product, and every partnership reflects our commitment to reducing pressure injuries all year round.
